Surface computing is an amazing technology and is a shift to the age of creativeness; where a table surface being an interactive and multiuser screen.
Dreams being real, and I am sure we gonna see much more in next few coming years.
on the other hand, and as a developer, I wish be one of these technologies' developers.

i once watched a movie called, minority report and i guess we are approching to that stage where there is no more mouse and keyboard, well honey ... you should calm down in your blog ... i really love tech. people like you .. food nice people nice places would be nice, by the way since we brought up the subject have you heard of flex from the way i read about it i think it is the Ajax burner

well, FLex is a good technology, but these technologies are appearing to surface on-by-one, that being said: it's not the perfect choice for every application. and on the other hand: when you can get 3 PHP developers instead of One Flex Developer (in the means of salary) then Flex is not the best choice.
have you heard about JavaFX? it's worth reading about it.
Now, back to your hint about Flex and Ajax, Ajax is pain if you are not careful using it! That being said: if your website is a One of the Kind but slow then you are off the market.
on the other hand Flex and Ajax compete on some stage.
hmmmmmmm , then i think you should look at it in consideration to salary and other things than technical, yeah i guess i heard something about JavaFX, but thats what i call aiming high, it is really interesting to read such things, hope to put something alike in service ..
man have you tried google gears try reading about it. it is really magical .. how they gonna transfer your gmail gcalendar and other gtools to an offline applications .. this is production my friend . ;)
